About LMHA

Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority (LMHA) administers housing assistance for approximately 1,700 families throughout Lake County. This consists of two federal housing programs, the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly known as Section 8) and the Public Housing Program.

These programs offer low and moderate income households the opportunity to rent affordable, decent, and safe housing. More importantly, LMHA provides these households a stable living environment in order for our clients to work towards their own economic self-sufficiency.

Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority strives to maintain a high level of compliance while providing excellent customer service. We continually strive to educate the public about the agency, its contributions to Lake County and our mission to provide affordable, safe and sanitary housing. This also encompasses the county’s elderly and/or disabled population.
